Much To Report!

On The Subject Of Families:
I am quite confused at the moment... I am at the moment with my second family ( I feel right at home: 3 sisters and a brother!) And unfortunately I am moving at the end of this month to a new family thanks to a Belgian exchange student taking priority over me... However I'm now told that I'm going for the weekend into another family's house...and I wasn't told by the family I'm with...It's what I live for, this wild unpredictable lifestyle!
Now the other things:
District conference:
Indeed, this was quite the fun...

Reflection time for a traumatised aussie (the girl in the picture...not me!):
Stupid stupid me...I had the bright idea to sit on one of those wooden ledges in the picture.
Unlike the rest of my bright ideas which I carry out to completion, this one I chose to pass.
But when I mentioned it thanks to a bit of group peer pressure a US exchange student,(anonymous coz embarrassing for her) , chose to sit on the ledge pictured below:
This was unfortunately a mistake...Luckily the water wasn't too cold and she missed the rock while falling...and unluckily for an innocent bystander, a poor duck was directly under her when she fell.
Anyway, she was fine, the duck was fine, and the finland experience was blossoming magnificently...
An uneventful boat...I just thought it looked nice
Ah yes...some crazy exchange students...I say some because there's no lack of them in finland...thirty-something of them in my district alone... but yeah...those pajama pants on the guy at the front were on of three identical pairs worn there! Oh and my muumi pjs were also owned by another exchange student...but that's another story...
Ah the boat again...so many stories to tell by the look of it...but not by me
Hmm...okay these pictures aren't in order...this is a nice bridge and church of suomenlinna...
Oh...
I hadn't mentioned suomenlinna previously...very well...
this conference was held in an ex-military base called suomenlinna. The swedes seem to think that it deserves their name of sveaborg just coz they built it...sorry swedes...(It's called both but finns rule so yeah...)

This is the russian crest of the time when suomenlinna was under attack by the russians and surrendered after three weeks...the swedes were defending it of course...
Ah yes...a nice decorative touch having cannon as part of a fence for the church there... And that's a bell behind it if you didn't notice
The church again in the background and a lighthouse boat...the only one in finland...I wouldn't mind having one myself...parents, I need a raise...
The russian's mark on suomenlinna...a building of sorts...the russians also shortened a world record length harbour...dunno why...
Hmm...the church for a third time...actually this is an almost unique church...only three others like it in the world...It's a church lighthouse..another thing aus is lacking...
Haha...ah yes a musical globe...this was before we were in suomenlinna when we explored the art gallery of finland...this globe made eerie noise...it has those musical spoke things in a music box...weird...and I took a well aimed picture (if you ignore New Zealand...'Tis Ausland!)
And yes, the tomb of the man who built suomenlinna himself...he was given some big title for it...great army commander or something...he did well and his epitaph said he was buried surrounded by his own work...touching...
pity he's swedish

Yesterday
I hve many finnish friends it's awesome! I played salibandy/floorball with them all afternoon yesterday...4:00 till 8:00 (still sunny then by the way...finland is good like that :) )

Got some school results back...I made aus proud with a grade of 10 (best possible), 9.5 and 7- (thanks biology-got physics back ages ago that was 8, and the other two were maths)

One final thing...I might have created a record for the most familes in three months...First the ballroom dancers...lovely people but lifestyle a bit hard for me...then this awesome family now...and thanks to an exchange student coming over and my family going on holiday I get to change twice more...'tis insane!!
Finland I love your organised chaos...
davidakarobbie out!
